These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Carpet Cleaning Putney provides carpet, upholstery and related cleaning services within Putney and surrounding areas in the United Kingdom. By booking or using our services you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing a booking.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:

Client means the individual, business, tenant, landlord, managing agent or other party who requests and receives the services.

Company means Carpet Cleaning Putney, the provider of the services.

Services means carpet cleaning, rug cleaning, upholstery cleaning and any other cleaning or related services provided by the Company.

Premises means the property, building or location where the services are to be carried out.

Booking means a confirmed appointment for the supply of services by the Company to the Client.

2. Scope of Services

The Company provides professional carpet and upholstery cleaning and related services to domestic and commercial Clients. The specific services to be supplied will be agreed at the time of booking based on the information provided by the Client.

Any descriptions of services on our promotional materials are for general guidance only. The exact results may vary depending on the condition, age, fibre type, previous treatments, and soiling of the items being cleaned.

3. Booking Process

3.1 Bookings can be made by the Client via the Companys approved communication channels as advertised from time to time.

3.2 The Client must provide accurate and complete information about the Premises, access arrangements, parking availability, the number and type of rooms, carpets, rugs or upholstery, and any special requirements. The Company relies on this information to provide an estimate and to determine the correct resources and time required.

3.3 Any quotation or estimate provided prior to viewing the Premises is indicative and based on the information supplied by the Client. The Company reserves the right to amend the quoted price if the information provided was incomplete or inaccurate, or if the condition or size of the items to be cleaned differs materially from what was described.

3.4 A booking is not confirmed until the Client has accepted the quotation, agreed to these Terms and Conditions, and, where applicable, paid any required deposit or provided payment details as security for the booking.

3.5 The Company reserves the right to refuse any booking at its sole discretion.

4. Access and Parking

4.1 The Client is responsible for providing the Company and its operatives with safe and reasonable access to the Premises at the agreed date and time. This includes access to sufficient electrical power and water where applicable.

4.2 The Client must ensure that suitable parking is available for the Companys vehicle as close as reasonably possible to the Premises. Any parking charges, permits, congestion charges, tolls or similar costs incurred in connection with the booking will be payable by the Client and may be added to the final invoice.

4.3 If the Company is unable to access the Premises at the scheduled time due to circumstances within the Clients control, waiting time, additional call-out fees, or cancellation charges may apply as set out in these Terms and Conditions.

5. Client Responsibilities

5.1 The Client must remove all fragile, valuable or easily damaged items from the areas where services will be carried out. The Company will not be responsible for damage to such items that have not been removed.

5.2 The Client should ensure that the areas to be cleaned are reasonably tidy and free from excessive clutter. The Company may decline to move heavy furniture, electrical items, or personal belongings. Any assistance with moving items is at the sole discretion of the operative and at the Clients risk.

5.3 The Client must inform the Company in advance of any known hazards, defects, or issues at the Premises, including loose floor coverings, faulty electrical fittings, alarm systems, security restrictions, or the presence of pets or occupants who may be sensitive to cleaning products.

5.4 The Client is responsible for ensuring that children, vulnerable persons and pets are kept away from the work area and from any equipment or cleaning solutions used during the services.

6. Pricing and Payment

6.1 Unless expressly stated otherwise, all prices are quoted in pounds sterling. Any applicable taxes will be included in the final price where required by law.

6.2 The price for the services will be confirmed at the time of booking, subject to any adjustments that may be necessary upon arrival at the Premises where the actual work required differs from that originally described.

6.3 The Company may require a deposit or full prepayment to secure a booking, particularly for larger jobs or at peak times. The Client will be informed of any such requirement before the booking is confirmed.

6.4 Unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing, payment is due immediately upon completion of the services at the Premises. The Company may accept various forms of payment, which will be specified through its usual communication channels.

6.5 Where payment terms have been agreed for commercial Clients, invoices must be paid in full within the specified period. The Company reserves the right to charge interest on late payments at the maximum rate permitted by applicable law, as well as any reasonable costs incurred in recovering overdue amounts.

7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

7.1 The Client may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving the Company advance notice via the same or an agreed communication channel used for the booking.

7.2 If the Client cancels or reschedules a booking with more than 48 hours notice before the scheduled start time, any deposit paid may be refunded or transferred to a new booking, at the Companys discretion.

7.3 If the Client cancels or reschedules a booking with less than 48 hours notice, the Company reserves the right to retain any deposit paid and may charge a cancellation fee up to a reasonable proportion of the quoted price to cover administrative and scheduling costs.

7.4 If the Client fails to provide access to the Premises at the scheduled time, this may be treated as a late cancellation, and the relevant cancellation fee may be charged.

7.5 The Company will make reasonable efforts to attend all bookings at the agreed time. However, the Company reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a booking due to circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to extreme weather, transport disruption, staff illness, safety concerns, or equipment failure. In such cases, the Company will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, but any deposits paid may be refunded or applied to a rescheduled appointment.

8. Service Standards and Limitations

8.1 The Company undertakes to provide the services with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with industry standards for professional carpet and upholstery cleaning.

8.2 While the Company will use appropriate techniques and cleaning solutions, it cannot guarantee the complete removal of all stains, odours, or marks, particularly where these are permanent in nature, have been previously treated with incompatible products, or are deeply set in the fibres.

8.3 The Client acknowledges that certain materials, fabrics, or carpet backings may be prone to wear, fade, shrinkage, colour loss, or other reactions to cleaning. The Company will take reasonable steps to assess such risks, but cannot be held responsible for pre-existing damage, weak fibres, discolouration, or latent defects that become apparent during or after cleaning.

8.4 Any estimated drying times given are for guidance only and may vary depending on ventilation, temperature, humidity, and the specific materials involved. The Client should ensure adequate ventilation and avoid heavy traffic on cleaned areas until they are fully dry.

9. Complaints and Rectification

9.1 If the Client is dissatisfied with any aspect of the services, they must notify the Company as soon as reasonably possible, and in any event within 48 hours of completion of the services.

9.2 The Client must allow the Company a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, rectify any issue. This may involve a revisit to the Premises to carry out further cleaning or other remedial work.

9.3 The Companys liability in respect of any valid complaint will be limited to the cost of redoing the services or, at the Companys discretion, refunding the price paid for the affected part of the services, subject always to the limitations set out in these Terms and Conditions.

10. Liability

10.1 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall limit or exclude the Companys liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.

10.2 Subject to the above, the Company will not be liable for any indirect, consequential or purely economic loss, including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, or loss of enjoyment arising out of or in connection with the services.

10.3 The Companys total aggregate liability in respect of any claim arising out of the provision of services to a Client shall, to the fullest extent permitted by law, be limited to the total amount actually paid by the Client for those services.

10.4 The Company shall not be liable for damage caused by defective materials, wear and tear, pre-existing faults, weak seams, unstable dyes, loose fittings, or items that are not suitable for wet or chemical cleaning.

10.5 The Client is responsible for arranging any specialist insurance they consider appropriate to cover the items to be cleaned and the Premises.

11. Waste Handling and Environmental Compliance

11.1 The Company will handle and dispose of any waste generated in the course of providing services in accordance with applicable waste management and environmental regulations in the United Kingdom.

11.2 Where cleaning solutions, soiled water or other residues are produced as part of the cleaning process, the Company will take reasonable steps to ensure their safe and lawful disposal, including the use of appropriate containment and discharge methods.

11.3 The Client must not request or require the Company to dispose of hazardous or controlled waste in a manner that would breach applicable waste regulations. If the Company encounters such waste at the Premises, it may decline to handle or remove it and may charge a call-out fee if services cannot proceed.

11.4 The Client agrees to cooperate with any reasonable instructions given by the Company regarding ventilation, temporary barriers, or restricted access to recently treated areas in order to ensure safety and compliance with health and environmental standards.

12. Insurance

12.1 The Company will maintain appropriate public liability insurance and, where applicable, employer liability insurance to cover its operations in the United Kingdom.

12.2 Details of insurance cover can be made available for inspection upon reasonable request by the Client. The existence of such insurance does not increase or extend the Companys liability beyond that set out in these Terms and Conditions.

13. Privacy and Data Protection

13.1 The Company will collect and process personal data from the Client only to the extent necessary to manage bookings, provide services, process payments, and handle any queries or complaints.

13.2 The Company will take reasonable steps to keep such personal data secure and will not sell or share it with third parties except where required to deliver the services, process payments, comply with legal obligations, or enforce its rights.

13.3 By placing a booking, the Client consents to the processing of their personal data for these purposes in accordance with applicable data protection laws in the United Kingdom.

14. Events Beyond Our Control

14.1 The Company shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay is caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of nature, severe weather, flooding, fire, epidemic, transport disruption, strikes, lockouts, equipment failure not caused by the Companys negligence, or government restrictions.

14.2 In such circumstances, the Company may suspend or cancel the services without liability, but will endeavour to offer an alternative appointment where reasonably possible.

15. Amendments to These Terms

15.1 The Company reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any new version will apply to bookings made after the date on which the revised Terms and Conditions are published or otherwise made available to the Client.

15.2 The version of the Terms and Conditions in force at the time of the Clients booking will apply to that booking unless a change is required by law or by a regulatory authority, in which case the updated provisions may apply to existing bookings.

16. Severability

16.1 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable by a court or other competent authority, that provision shall be deemed deleted, but the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

17.1 These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or with the services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

17.2 The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the provision of services by the Company.

By placing a booking with Carpet Cleaning Putney, the Client confirms that they have read, understood and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
